This is a very good attempt to make a high quality sharpener, but still falls short of being a completely versital system. What's odd is it offers 30 degrees for a back bevel and 40 degrees for a edge, I have never seen or heard of 40 degrees for a knife edge. I have seen down to 17 degrees and up to 30, and I wish it would have offered down to 20 and up to 30. It is the only crock style sharpener that offers replaceable diamond rods which is a plus.
